ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Richard L. Benson, Ph.D is a Licensed Psychologist in Kansas and Missouri who conducts a private practice with children, adolescents, and adults in Overland Park, Kansas. He has extensive experience working with a wide variety of emotional and neurological issues associated with children and adolescents. A counseling psychologist with over 25 years of experience, Dr. Benson specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of AD/HD, Anxiety, and Mood Disorders. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and prior to going into private practice, worked at Crittenton. He has taught classes and seminars at the graduate and undergraduate level and is known for his entertaining, interactive approach.

Differentiating DSM-IV Made Easy! Anxiety, AD/HD and Mood Disorders
Accurate differential diagnosis must precede effective treatment planning. This is especially true when various diagnostic categories share similar symptoms. Diagnostic assessment for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety and mood disorders present a diagnostic quagmire for those in the mental health professions. This seminar will present a systematic method for improving diagnostic accuracy as well as provide distinguishing characteristics of the above-mentioned diagnoses in children, adolescents, and adults.
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be better able to:

- Describe and apply systematic methods for making differential diagnoses between AD/HD, anxiety and mood disorders.
